Barisardo and Coccorocci

When nature and tradition meet

We suggest a bike route that takes about 20 minutes to Barisardo. The historic village was built around the parish church of Nostra Signora di Monserrato and lived off agriculture and sheep farming before the development of tourism in the 1970s led to the creation of the seaside hamlet around the coastal tower. Agricultural activities still offer valuable food products, from sheep and goat cheeses to fruit, local vegetables, and festive breads. There are also evocative religious rituals from the agrarian culture, such as the Festa de Su Nenneri in July. In honour of the saint, bunches of wheat sprouts grown in the dark are decorated with elaborate crosses made of reeds, fruit, and flowers, and finally thrown into the sea after an enthralling procession accompanied by Sardinian music. The coastal area is characterized by wide beaches that suggest long walks along the shoreline to discover the Spiaggia Della Torre (Tower Beach) or the red porphyry stacks of the Spiaggia di Cea (Cea Beach). The frequent thermal wind makes it possible to surf and kitesurf all along the coast every day.The coastal road south of Cardedu runs alongside the coastline where large white sandy beaches and small coves of red rocks alternate until you reach Coccorocci, an unusual pebble beach with all shades of white and black. The colours of the seabed of this bay enhanced by the transparency of the sea, the pebbly dunes, and the isolated position are not the only attractions of the site. Entering the wood behind the dunes, after a few kilometres of dirt road you cross a forest area that leads to the small natural pools immersed in a wild, unspoiled environment. From the hotel, following the route by bicycle, you will be able to appreciate every detail of this scenic excursion that also skirts the beautiful beaches of Museddu, Perda e Pera and Di Su Sirboni.
